Visiting the Ardennes Pays de Herve

Frankenelsen is a "rural gite" situated near the village of Hombourg (Plombieres), in the lovely countryside of Belgium.

It is a good base for nice walks, cycling tours or excursions to the "Drielandenpunt", the cloister of Val-Dieu, Aachen, Luik or Maastricht.

The apartment

Rural gite

The apartment is 95 m2 and has a central heating.

The division is as follows: a large hall; 2 large bedrooms; a bathroom with toilet and shower; a cosy sittingroom; kitchen with dining area. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, oven and ceramic hot plate.

There is a terras (partial roofed-in) with BBQ.

Also included a TV/Radio and DVD-player. On demand WiFi internet connection.

Linen, towels and bath robes (2) are included.

The region

The region around Plombieres, a beautiful setting

The municipality of Plombieres consist of the villages Plombieres, Montzen, Sippenaeken, Gemmenich, Hombourg and Moresnet and belongs to the "Pays de Herve".

In Sippenaeken, you can find the castle Beusdael with its canal. In the village of Gemmenich is the Saint Hubertuschurch. The 50 m. high Boudewijntower is the landmark on the "Drielandenpunt". The American military graveyard at Hombourg, situated on a hill, gives you a wonderful panoramic view.

The rural villages, the woods, the hills and the panoramic views are excellent for walks or cycling tours. The river Geul flows alongside Sippenaeken and through Moresnet, you can enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna.
